Throughout this workshop you will learn and practice editing, the process of preparing audio, video, and other elements together to create the final version of a film.
Various aspects include bringing a sequence together, managing media and making changes, adding transitions, building titles and completing an entire scene. The workshop also covers the techniques of mixing audio, fixing audio problems, color correction, adding video filters, configuring an editing interface and building a basic story. The workshop focuses on digital, non-linear editing in order to attain entry-level positions as an editor or assistant editor.
Upon satisfactory completion of the Introduction to the World of Post Workshop, successful graduates will be able to:
- Launch and navigate Final Cut Pro
- Capture media and manage content
- Add edits to a sequence
- Trim an edit by rolling or rippling
- Understand additional tools editors use in the edit suite
- Add and fine-tune filters
- Mix audio and edit dialog
