The Introduction to Film Workshop has been developed to train students for basic film production. The hands-on course will allow you to practice various film industry techniques, including camera loading, digital filmmaking, non-linear editing and familiarization with budgeting and scheduling software commonly used in the film industry.
You’ll develop an entry-level proficiency in film production and work with industry-standard equipment. Students train for a variety of positions including production assistant, grip, second assistant camera operator and assistant script supervisor.
Upon satisfactory completion of the Introduction to Film Workshop, successful graduates will be able to:
- Identify and understand the tools used in film production
- Display skills and knowledge needed to be a production assistant
- Use film industry software to assist in scheduling and budgeting
- Load a film magazine
- Shoot a digital film
- Light a basic scene
- Edit on a non-linear editing system
