RADIO, VIDEO & FILM PROGRAM
Dual Concentration

Graduates of the Radio, Video & Film Single Concentration Program may transfer into the Radio, Video & Film Dual Concentration Program if they wish to concentrate their training in both radio and video & film. Students transferring into this program will enter their second area of concentration (radio or video & film) upon having graduated from the RVF Single Concentration Program with the opposite area of concentration.

In order to facilitate a minimum amount of interruption in a student's training, we make every attempt to place the dual concentration student in the first available class. However, students could experience a wait between concentrations since space is subject to availability.

Students must also satisfy all other requirements for entry to the second area of concentration, including, but not limited to, passing a proficiency examination given under the supervision of the Director of Education, if a period of more than six months has passed between the student's last date of attendance and the student's scheduled date of return. Students in the RVF Dual Concentration Program will be required to complete the entire 3rd and 4th marking period curriculum for their second area of concentration. The 4th marking period Career Perspectives II projects in the Dual Concentration Program are different from the Single Concentration Program.

This program was designed for individuals wishing to enter the job market with maximum entry-level proficiency skills in both radio and video & film. This program affords students the equivalent of a "double major," thus significantly increasing their capabilities and marketability in the radio and television/film industries.

Q: What types of jobs?

A: The following links will take you to the Occupational Information Network (O*NET) website and database, which is considered the nation's primary source of occupational information. (Developed under the sponsorship of the US Department of Labor/Employment and Training Administration.) Please note that the wages listed refer to median incomes and do not reflect entry-level wages. It is not uncommon for entry-level jobs to pay minimum wage. However, among our Hall of Fame inductees, you will find graduates who work in upper management and programming at a variety of media-related companies.

Specs Howard School cannot guarantee any job to any graduate, but our Career Services Department works to help each graduate attain employment. The ultimate responsibility for obtaining employment rests with the Specs Howard School graduate.
