The Specs Howard School has always been about opening up new opportunities
for people. I'm excited to be presenting a whole menu of new career and educational options for students, for Specs graduates, and even for employers.
That means I get to work with the admissions department, the placement department, other schools and colleges, as well as with Media Power, our industry training division. The hardest part of each day, of course, is where to focus my attention!
Every day is different and I don't think there's any better place than Specs Howard to learn about so many different lives and stories.
Brief job description: Marketing to the public and to the industry: Specs Howard's placement services, Media Power advanced training, and educational articulation possibilities for graduates.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?
That I used to have curly hair down past my shoulders . . . .
How do you stay on top of trends in the industry?
Working at Specs keeps us involved with a larger sampling of the industry than most people get when they're IN the industry. I still do a bit of work in the audio/ voice areas.
What do all successful grads seem to have in common? They know what they want, they have the skills, and they don't give up when things get rough.
Why do you turn on the radio? The CD player's broken. KIDDING! Kelly Brown, and all the rest of my former students who are on the air! Also Ed Love, Mason, Martin Bandyke, Frank Beckman's interviews on 'JR, Dick Purtan and all of the great PERSONALITIES in Detroit.
Do you have a favorite radio station? Different every day.
Favorite DJ: Greaseman, Washington DC.
Where do you look for creative inspiration?
Music and Movies; People in marketing/advertising that I admire.
Likes: Cooking (international grub), Travel
Dislikes: Cell phones, large oysters.
Favorite place: Aside from Michigan . . . Southeast Asia
One thing you'd like to learn: Thai language
Pets: Amy, Shadow and Swiffer (cats), Sunny the cockatiel.
Subjects that interest you: Food, Film, Music, Travel, Michigan
Favorite local newscast: Can't play favorites on most of these!

Oh boy -- All comedies: Extreme Elimination Challenge, Mad TV, Blind Date.
