Education: B.A. in Filmmaking, M.A. in Education.
Past Experience: Worked for various production companies throughout Los Angeles, doing a variety of jobs in film and TV productions. For 3 years I was the video production teacher at Manhattan Beach Middle School for 7th and 8th graders. Now I’m here.
What would people be surprised to know about you? I play rugby.
What do you watch when you turn on the TV? Heroes, Lost or the Sci-Fi channel
Prefer to be on camera/on-air or behind the scenes? I like both
What do you think is the coolest job behind the scenes? Director
How far should someone go to get a story? If you get the story, the means justifies the ends.
Do you watch reality TV? I try not to. Not a big fan.
Favorite TV commercial: “Bow-chicka-woaw-woaw”
What TV advertisement bothers you the most? Anything with politicians
Who would you most like to interview? Frank Herbert
What do you consider your most important role at the school? To get you ready for a job.
What do all successful grads seem to have in common? Self-motivation, vision, and passion.
Why do you turn on the radio? My iPod ran out of juice.
Do you have a favorite radio station? KUFO in Portland, OR and KROQ in Los Angeles.
What song do you wish would disappear from radio? Sweater by Weezer… It burrows into the skull and breeds baby weezers!
Where do you look for creative inspiration? From the students, comics, books, dreams.
What do you enjoy most about working at Specs? Fairly immediate gratification of my job. Once you’re done with me, you get a job and I can watch you become famous and take us little people along with you.
One thing you'd like to learn: How to speak Arabic fluently
